A New Space, A Signature Style
We’re delighted to share that MUSE Boudoir is now available in Cornwall, and this recent shoot captures everything we love about working in a new space while staying true to our signature style.
Each session with MUSE is carefully considered, allowing time and space for a variety of moods, light, and styling to unfold. What begins with something soft and understated often evolves into a set of images that feel bolder, darker, and more cinematic—without ever losing that quiet elegance at the core.
Starting with the Light
We like to begin with a gentler energy—natural light, softer fabrics, and a relaxed, almost effortless feel. Perfectly suited to the Cornwall location which is just a few minutes walk to one of the North Coast’s most beautiful beaches: Porthtowan. These kind of portraits are pared-back but still beautifully styled. It gives you an opportunity to settle in – giving you space to get comfortable in front of the lens.
This part of the shoot has a very natural rhythm. We keep the tone light and easy, and the images that come from this part of the session often feel intimate, graceful, and quietly confident.
This light and airy style is perfectly suited to those interested in a bridal boudoir photoshoot.
Building the Mood
As the session progresses, we gently shift gears. The light changes, the styling evolves, and the images take on a different energy. Still elegant, still refined—but with a little more mood, more contrast, and more shape.
This isn’t about performance. It’s about guiding you through a series of small, thoughtful changes that build towards something striking and beautifully styled. By the time we reach the final set, we’re working in our signature dark and sultry sculptural lighting—creating photographs that feel timeless and full of atmosphere.
Kate always likes to end a shoot with the ultimate ‘I look this good when I sleep’ shot. Every woman deserves an image this simple and beautiful.
This beautiful woman is Caroline – who has worked with us at MUSE for years as a hair and make up artist. It’s fair to say she wasn’t feeling her best before the shoot and was ‘worried’ how she might look. She’s in her mid 40s and a typically tired working mum. It doesn’t matter how much you tell her she looks fantastic – she needed to SEE it:
